The longer that I consciously live a natural lifestyle, the more I am intrigued about the science behind it all. There are obvious explanations for wellness – to me it is common sense that our body would digest a fruit or a vegetable more easily compared to processed foods. Sometimes, there are scientific answers behind what we intuitively know – the number of chromosomes our body needs to break down impacts the amount of stress our body undergoes in doing so. Frequency is a lot like the common sense in making good food choices. It makes perfect sense to me and it seems to be backed by scientific studies. If you’ve never looked at frequency before, you’re in for a treat. This topic is so interesting to me and I bet you’ll find it interesting too.
What Frequency Is
Frequency is the measurement of vibration of an object on a cellular level. All cells are living, active atoms. Rocks have frequency, animals have frequency, wood has frequency, and most food has frequency. The human body is comprised of trillions upon trillions of cells. Everything we touch is made of atoms, most of which carry a charge or frequency. Some of those cells have low frequencies and some have high frequencies.
One of the first examples of frequency that pops into my head is the movie Ghost Busters. Remember when the science-geek ghost buster (Egon Spengler) did a study on the frequency variance, comparing a room with an angry couple fighting compared to a child that was given a puppy to play with. In the movie, he was using a hand-held device to study frequency. He was studying the measurable wave lengths in the air around the two. Now, don’t get me wrong – I don’t think that classic 80’s movie offers any firm scientific findings. But it is based upon a scientific concept – that energy is alive and moves, including negative energy emitted from angry feelings.
The same theory comes into play with the law of attraction. We are naturally attracted to uplifting, positive people. And we are drawn away from heavy, negative, angry people.
Why It Matters
So why does frequency matter? If our frequency drops below a threshold level, we are more susceptible to disease. In fact, doctors have studied the level at which we are most susceptible to serious disease like cancer. The human body should be between 62-78 MHz (in range). When our body falls below 62, we become more susceptible to viruses and below 42, we are susceptible to cancer. Disease has a low frequency and the theory behind this science is that when our frequency is high, it deters or counters the low frequency virus and disease, making it more unlikely to enter our bodies.
The thresh-hold where we are susceptible to common viruses is not as low as cancer. But honestly, both are relevant and matter to me. If we could actively make choices that are a first line of defense against illness and disease – is there a single person reading this blog post who wouldn’t try?
And let’s be real – you’ve probably experienced the phenomenon of frequency being tangible. Have you ever walked into a room and sensed tension? Everyone in the room may smile at you – but it’s like you could cut the tension in the room with a knife? It’s been a common reference in hundreds of movies and sitcom episodes. And we’ve all experienced it at some point. The explanation for that experience is frequency.
What You Can Do About It
So what if some of the choices we make were influencing our frequency in ways that were slowly building up. And what if those choices caused prolonged changes in our frequency that was negatively impacting our wellness? That very idea is the foundation for several theories that underlie dietary recommendations. Some doctors believe that studies show that an acidic diet can cause us to be more susceptible to disease because our body then also becomes acidic. Interestingly, many acidic foods also have a low frequency that causes our frequency to drop.
So why is this important? Studies on frequency seem to show that when our frequency drops, we become susceptible to disease. And in fact, one study showed that increasing the frequency that a virus was exposed to could be effective in killing the virus. Does that mean we have a cure for everything? No. If life were that simple, we would hope that disease would not be such a devastating component of life. We all know someone who has battled or fallen prey to cancer. And while frequency may not be the end all – if it’s yet another tool I can use to bring wellness to my family, what’s the harm in considering it?
Ways to Increase Your Frequency
Many natural doctors believe that there are several things you can do to influence your frequency. And it turns out that some of them are things we do in our family. In fact, some of them have had an apparent, noticeable impact on our mood, our energy levels and our overall satisfaction with how we feel.
(1) Food & Beverages.
You know the expression – you are what you eat? Well, there’s some scientific proof to that. Not only does the quality of your diet impact your energy, mood, and weight, (all of which are tied to wellness), but it also influences your frequency. For example, coffee has low frequency (and is also acidic) and tea has a higher frequency than coffee. So there is a school of thought that tea is better for you than coffee. This same theory is part of why some believe that a raw diet is best for us.
The thing about energy is that it can be transferred. When we cook foods, it lowers the frequency of the food. And the more processing that a food is exposed to,the lower it’s frequency. In fact, some processed foods are known to have zero frequency.
So if you’re looking to increase your frequency, you should aim to take in whole fruits and vegetables that are as fresh and unprocessed as possible. Fresh-picked, organic fruit ripe off the tree will have a much higher frequency, than the same fruit that has been sitting around for weeks rotting or has been processed and canned to a store shelf, where it has sat for months or even years. Planting your own garden is a great place to start and so is joining a farm share co-op. You can find my tips to start your own garden here.
(2) Crystals.
Just like food, crystals have frequency. Many people wear crystals in order to expose their body to a natural form of frequency. It is believed that holding a crystal or wearing it (in the form of jewelry), can positively transfer higher frequencies to our body. The idea behind this natural method of healing, is that when we raise the frequency of our body, it may protect us from the damaging effects of disease and illness.
(3) Essential Oils.
Essential oils have also been studied for their frequency. Some oils have a very high frequency. Those oils with an extremely high frequency are also oils that come from valuable plants and those oils also tend to have high therapeutic values.
Essential oils are the essence of the plant-life from which they originate. A true, therapeutic grade essential oil that has been gently extracted through proper distillation methods can hold amazing therapeutic value. One of the reasons this may be true is that many essential oils have a high frequency. Among the highest are Frankincense, Rose, Helichrysum, Ravintsara, and Idaho Blue Spruce essential oils. Frankincense has been studied (and continues to be studied) by scientists all over the world, for it’s potential to rejuvenate cancerous cells to a healthy state.
(4) Grounding.
If you’ve ever felt anxious, stressed or frazzled – have you tried taking your shoes off and grounding yourself to the earth? I firmly believe in the power of grounding your body. There is something that happens when we touch the earth. Turns out that there is a science behind that too!
Many people find that they feel at peace when they are in nature’s element. By comparison, the stimulus from modern technology seems to do the opposite. The earth has an electromagnetic field that surrounds it, pulsating at about 7.83 hertz (on average). This is known as the “Schumann resonance” – the theory is named after physicist Dr. Winfried Otto Schumann 1.
I have used this grounding technique with my children hundreds of times. If the kids spend too much time with their iPad or video games, I will see a tension building within them. So I make them set it down, walk away, run in the dirt and play in nature. Their mood, tension, and attitude immediately changes. It is truly astonishing to see!
Give it a Try!
Let’s face it – we’ve all felt that soothing effect when we’re at the beach. We dig our feet into the sand, close our eyes as we lie on the beach, and listen to the waves. There are all kinds of natural elements at play there – smell, touch, and scent. And being on vacation sure doesn’t hurt. But I believe that the power of frequency plays a role in that also!
If you don’t believe it – I challenge you to take off your socks and shoes on a nice day, close your eyes, and walk barefoot in the grass or the sand. Feel how different it makes your body feel compared to walking in shoes. I encourage you to take it a step further and monitor what you eat and how it makes you feel. I think you’ll be surprised at how your choices can influence the way you feel!
